Maintenance Clinic

Will you be ready to fix a flat tire on your bike?

SBC's winter bike maintenance classes are here to empower you with skills like air maintenance, tube and tire replacement, and tubeless repair, all taught hands-on with your own bike and allow anyone from the beginner to expert walk away with a little more confidence in their repair skills.

This class will cover basic flat repair for tubed and tubeless tires, including:

-Proper air maintenance and psi levels

-How to remove and re-install front and rear wheels on your bike

-Replacement of inner tubes/tires

-Properly diagnose why a tube/tire went flat (Why did it go flat?)

-How to refresh tubeless sealant (Yes all tubeless tires need maintenance)

-How to plug a tubeless tire on the trail or at home

JOYRIDE: Western Slope Women + Girls MTB Day

Join us for an all-day Women and Girls MTB day at the Western Slope! Full of clinics, group rides, games, shuttles, food, and much more, this event is about increasing female representation in mountain biking by providing a supportive, inclusive, and uplifting environment for women and girls (ages 9+).

The Great Stokesville Campout

Join us at the edge of the George Washington National Forest for the continuation of the Shenandoah Mountain Bike Festival at Stokesville!

Overview

The Great Stokesville Campout originated in 1997 as the Shenandoah Mountain Bike Festival and has always been and remains volunteer-powered. The Campout served as a fundraiser for the Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition (SVBCoalition) Proceeds from the Campout help the Coalition fulfill our mission to Build Better Communities in the Valley through biking, walking, and trails.

The Campout is held at the beautiful Stokesville Campground on the edge of the George Washington National Forest. With on site trails and easy access to National Forest trail gems, Stokesville is ground zero for trail-based adventures in the Valley.

Registration Info

  • All Campout attendees must register, even if they do not plan to ride bicycles. The Stokesville Campground is open ONLY for our registered Campout guests.

  • There will be NO REFUNDS. All proceeds benefit the Coalition.

General Information

  • A weekend of riding, trail work (maybe), great food, better people, trails, burritos, and bonfires.

  • Registration includes camping!

  • We provide all the meals and beverages! Friday Dinner, Saturday and Sunday Breakfast/lunch, and Sunday Burrito dinner.

  • Registration includes access to the famous Stokesville Swimming hole.

  • Group rides Friday afternoon through Sunday.

  • All proceeds benefit the Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition and initiatives to increase access to trails in the National Forest.

  • The Campout is volunteer-powered! This means 100% of participants volunteer. Sign up for your volunteer slot after you register.

Campground amenities include

  • Tent sites (first come, first serve

  • RV sites (30 amp electric plus water/sewer hookups. These can be reserved when you register.)

  • Bathrooms with flush toilets and hot showers

  • Pavilion

About Stokesville Campground

  • Stokesville Campground (see the official website) will be open to you as part of your Campout registration from 10 am Friday – 5 pm Sunday. You can stay additional nights by contacting the campground directly.

  • There are plenty of fun activities for everyone around the campground, including a playground for kids (at your own risk), bonfires, and miles of trails and gravel roads for folks who want to ride bikes, hike, or run.

  • The trail and road riding around the Stokesville Campground and in the George Washington National Forest are beautiful and sometimes challenging.

42nd Annual Shenandoah Valley Century and Other Rides

Join us for the 42nd Annual Shenandoah Valley Century and other length rides! This year's event is set to take place at Oakdale Park for a celebration of bicycling and gorgeous Valley roads.

Your support helps fuel the Bicycle Coalition's mission to Build Stronger, Happier, Healthier Communities in the Valley.

This century ride is a great opportunity to explore the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. People on bikes of all skill levels can participate and enjoy the scenic route. The course will take you through the area's rolling hills and picturesque countryside, with rest stops along the way to keep you fueled and hydrated.

Whether you're a seasoned Rider or just starting out, the Shenandoah Valley Century is a fun and welcoming way to spend a day. So grab your bike and come join us for a day of cycling, camaraderie, and beautiful scenery!

2024 Valley Veterans Ride for Heroes

Charity bicycle ride sponsored by twelve VFW posts in the central Shenandoah Valley with road routes of 26, 40, and Metric century lengths.

Dedicated to raise funds to help combat veterans dealing with and recovering from trauma associated with wartime experiences.

All proceeds enable combat veterans to attend Boulder Crest Foundation's post-traumatic growth programs at no cost.
